Collin Nafziger: I was born and raised in the small town of Parkesburg Pennsylvania, brought up in a family who loves and has a passion for the outdoors. This led me to attend Unity College in Maine seeking a major in Parks and Forest Resources. Through my time at Unity, my passion for the outdoors has grown, as I have studied and immersed myself in nature. As I am preparing to enter my senior year of college I am starting to focus on what I wants to do with my life after graduation and what line of work I would like to enter into. I was fortunate enough to obtain an internship this summer, working for the United States Forest Service (USFS) stationed in Cordova Alaska as a trail crew member. I am very excited for this opportunity and the experience with the Forest Service as well as the experience working on trails that I will gain from it. Not to mention the fact that I get to work in Alaska!
I will be posting weekly (although I will be late on occasion as I will be camping out on trail for up to a week at a time) about my experiences here working for the Forest Service as well as exploring Cordova and becoming familiar with the culture and people here. I hope you enjoy following along with me this summer through my blog!
